Chiller Information
There are three ways to cool down a garden. They consist of traditional air conditioning, evaporative coolers and chiller systems. The most effective way to cool water is through the use of a chiller. At Whaley Products, this is not a problem.
Chillers are similar to air conditioning units that are made to recirculate water. They are composed of fans, coils, and refrigeration lines. Coolants, like glycol and water, can be used to remove heat for an isolated area. Most producers use a 1.5 horsepower to 2 horsepower chiller. If electricity is running through your garden already, then the hardest part has been done.
Chillers can be more that 25% more efficient than traditional air conditioners. An air-conditioned turns on when air is increased in the room. This is different than chiller. A compressor comes on only when the temperature in the water increases. Chillers don’t normally lose their efficiency until outdoor temperature is close to 100°F. Chillers can be found in hospitals, hotels, variety of processing plants, like automotive places, plastic mold injection and green houses.
Chiller systems can be closed, open, closed loop, or open looped. They consist of outdoor water chillers, and indoor air to water heat exchangers. These heat exchangers have fans, of various sizes. A water line travels between the chiller and the heat exchanger to allow for the flow of hot water and cool water.
